Boys’ golf defeats Bishop Amat

Boys’ varsity golf clinched a victory against Bishop Amat High School on Tuesday, March 14. South Pasadena concluded the match with a score of 205-217 on the Almansor Golf Course.

Sophomore Giuliano Fusco made his debut, leading the team with an exceptional score of 34. Team members, sophomore Josh Ramos and senior Matthew Wright both ended with 36 strokes, while showing consistency with their previous matches. Senior Andrew Son improved his game, bringing in a 42. Senior Elliott Lee was not far off with a score of 43, alongside sophomore Jason Gomez closed out the game with a 48.

The team played a commendable game, attaining a low score of 205 strokes which South Pas has not achieved in a couple years. All players scored under 50 strokes, which is an impressive improvement from earlier games this season.

“Our hard work really paid off. Everything just worked out for everyone and it really showed on our score,” said Son.

This win boosts the Tigers’ record to 2-3, inching them closer to its goal of improving last year’s 2-10 record. South Pas will play its next match on Thursday, March 16 against La Salle on the Almansor Golf Course.
