Senior Esteban Suarez had the largest success for South Pas, claiming the CIF Champion title. With a jump of 15’6”, close to his personal best, Suarez claimed victory over eight other vaulters. However, he won third out of all four divisions

In the 300 meter hurdles, senior Alexis Mora placed sixth with a time of 45.19 seconds, tying her career best. Junior Max Schoerner garnered ninth in the high jump.

“I think everyone who competed today performed pretty well. Esteban is an amazing athlete and this is his year, he went to state last year and I’m hoping he can excel even further this year,” Mora said. “I am beyond excited for the athletes next year. We have some very talented young athletes who are yet to reach their full potential. I plan on seeing several of them running at CIF next year!”

Suarez will be the lone Tiger athlete moving on, and compete at CIF Masters on Friday, May 27 at Cerritos College. He hopes to then qualify for CIF State Finals as the top five from Masters move on.
