The smell of freshly cooked food wafted through the air on March 20, when the Freshman class ASB held the first ever Food Truck Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Three food trucks were parked in the SPHS main parking lot, serving a variety of meals and snacks like burgers, fries, tri-tip steak, and cookies and ice cream for dessert. The event also offered live music performed by students. Junior Maia Thomas and Sophomore Kevin Foster performed duets of “Feeling Good” by Michael Buble and “Mystery of You” by Spencer Day. Sophomore Lorie Meza performed two songs on her ukulele and many other students also showcased their musical talents.

“[The event] was a big success. A lot of people showed up from around the community,” said freshman class Vice President Dawson Galluzzi, who helped plan this event and ensure its success.

The proceeds from this event will be used to help fund next years prom. It is unknown whether or not the Freshman ASB will hold another Food Truck Friday this year, but they definitely plan to hold another similar happening next year.
