Seniors, juniors, and sophomore were recognized for their academic achievement on Thursday, Sept. 27 for the annual Tigers Achieving Greatness (TAG) Day.

TAG Day recognizes and commends students who have maintained a 4.0 GPA or a 3.49-3.99 GPA last semester. Those who displayed a 0.5 GPA improvement since the previous semester were also acknowledged and congratulated. The Associated Student Body (ASB) representatives visited these students during their fourth period class and announced their names, giving recipients candy, and a ticket to redeem ice cream during lunch.

This year Commission of Academics senior Grace Kim will hold a raffle as a way of recognizing everyone’s hard work. The raffle will take place during the Color Day assembly, this Friday, and will have two winners per grade level and one grand prize winner from the entire school. Recipient of the grand prize will receive an Echo Dot and grade level prizes will include drawstring bags, candy, and stress balls.

“I don’t believe achieving greatness is getting good grades,” Commissioner of Academics senior Grace Kim said. “To recognize every student for [achieving] personal growth, I wanted [TAG] Day to recognize all students. It is normally a tradition to not include the freshmen in tag day but I am including them in the raffle because [ASB] promotes school unity and excluding them isn’t the best thing, in my opinion.”
