Girls golf narrowly loses to San Marino

The girls golf team suffered its first loss against San Marino with a close score of 192-199 Thursday, Sept. 26. South Pas now stands at 3-1 in the Rio Hondo League and 7-3 overall.

Sophomore Lauren Calderon led the team and shot for 30 strokes. Senior Victoria Tskvitichvili and sophomore Audrey Biggar had respective scores of 36 and 42, while sophomore Maya Turun earned a score of 46. Junior Katherine Anthony and sophomore Cassy Huang ended the game with 45 and 51 strokes.

“Today’s game was really close in scores. Although we lost, we did our best and scored our best as well,” Tskvitichvili said. “We are going to continue working hard and perform the best we can.”

The Tigers will play Temple City Tuesday, Oct. 1, before playing each team for the second time this league season.
