The girls’ golf team finished their preseason with another dominant victory on Thursday, September 6, defeating Crescenta Valley 199-298. The Tigers completed their exhibition matches with a five game winning streak.

Freshmen Lauren Calderon and Maya Turun continued their amazing run of play, with scores of 35 and 37, respectively. Junior co-captain Lindsey Biggar ended the match with 41 strokes, while fellow co-captain Victoria Tskvitichvili had 42 strokes. Sophomore Katherine Anthony, with a score of 44, also played a solid game.

Calderon and Turun have stepped up and solidified their position as crucial team players. Anthony has improved from last season, contributing to each win and captains Biggar and Tskvitichvili are playing consistently well. With a talented squad and an undefeated preseason, the Tigers expect nothing less than a league championship.

“I think that have a very strong team and that we will have a high possibility of going far [in CIF],” Calderon said. “We just have to be prepared for anything and play the best we can.”

The Tigers will begin the league season next Tuesday, September 11, facing against La Cañada on the Almansor Golf Course.
