The boys’ tennis team suffered a defeat against La Cañada, falling 13-5 on Friday, Mar. 22. With their league record dropping to 1-3, the Tigers’ title chances are quickly fading.

Juniors Desmond Chan and Ben Pestana, singles one and two respectively, continue to perform well despite South Pas’ subpar results. Chan won all three sets, while Pestana defeated two of his opponents.

The doubles teams continued to struggled; they have only won 12 of 36 sets this season. The doubles’ play must improve if the Tigers wish to have a successful season.

“They were a really good team,” junior David Newhall said. “It was good practice for us as a team and we hope to improve against them next time.”

At the midpoint of the season, South Pas will take a break from league action and play in a non-conference match against Flintridge Prep on Wednesday, Mar. 26. The Tigers defeated the Rebels last season, 10-8.
